Garnish & Co. is a New Zealand business. We handle personal information under the Privacy Act 2020. Plain English version below.
What we collect
When you buy something: your name, email, shipping address, and the items in your order. Payment details are handled directly by Shopify and never touch our servers.
When you sign up for our list: your email address. That's it.
When you visit the site: standard server logs (IP, browser, page viewed) and aggregated analytics (Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel for ad measurement). No identifying profiles. You can opt out via your browser's "Do Not Track" or by blocking the analytics script.
What we do with it
- Send you what you bought
- Send you transactional emails (order confirmation, shipping updates)
- Send you marketing emails only if you opted in
- Improve the site (aggregate analytics only)
- Comply with NZ tax and accounting requirements
What we never do
- Sell your data
- Share it with third parties beyond what's needed to ship your order (NZ Post, Shopify) and run our email (Klaviyo, with industry-standard data agreements)
- Email you marketing you didn't ask for
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- See what data we hold on you
- Correct it
- Delete it (subject to anything we're legally required to keep, like tax records)

Cookies
We use a small number of cookies, for cart state, login, and analytics. No third-party ad cookies beyond Meta Pixel for our own ad measurement. A consent banner appears on first visit; you can change your preferences any time.
